Dalek fetches £20,000 at auctionA 25-year-old Dalek has sold at auction for £20,400, it has been revealed.

The old Doctor Who prop, along with a plethora of items from the popular TV series, went under the hammer at a recent sale at Bonhams, according to the Press Association.

Despite being bashed in various places and missing several parts, the cult robot was the highest-earning lot.

The second-highest sum was paid for another Dalek, which sold for £15,600. Both items had been given a presale estimate of just £7,000.

A number of Cybermen costumes sold for up to £9,600 each, while a waitress outfit worn by Kylie Minogue when she appeared in the series in 2007 was purchased for £3,210.

A Paul Smith suit worn by the 10th Doctor David Tennent went for £5,040 and a pair of pyjamas donned by Billie Piper in 2006 sold for £600.

The Bonhams sale was made up of more than 160 old props, with many of the auctioned items having originally been made out of odds and ends.
