Iconic Monroe dress up for auctionThe movie star's iconic pink dress from the film Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (1953) will be under offer from June 12th to 14th in Hollywood.

Monroe wore the vintage collectible while depicting Lorelai Lee who is travelling on a cruise ship with her best friend, in the Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend Scene.

The gown is expected to fetch between $150,000 and $250,000 (£103,000 to £170,000).

Other items up for grabs at the auction include the Wicked Witch's hat from the Wizard of Oz which should sell for about £100,000 and Harrison Ford's script for Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark, including his hand-written notes which should reach £14,000.

A spokesperson for the Profiles in History event said: "This unparalleled auction includes numerous collections highlighted by an incredible collection from The Wizard of Oz and an extensive collection of Elvis Presley clothing, jewellery and personal effects."

Elvis memorabilia for sale includes a stage-used guitar given to director Norman Taurog which is estimated to fetch £55,000.
