Photographer organises charity auction - 28/01/2010
A professional photographer has turned amateur auctioneer in order to raise money for charity. Jon Stroud, a photographer, has organised an auction of equestrian photographs as taken by some of the foremost people in the field.
The eBay-based sale is the latest in an increasingly lengthy line of auctions set up to raise money for the people of Haiti who were devastated by an earthquake a couple of weeks ago.
Mr Stroud said: "You wouldn't normally associate a bunch of equestrian photographers with charity work such as this, but the situation in Haiti is desperate.
"There are going to be some truly amazing images on offer and I am delighted that we have managed to assemble such an illustrious list of contributors. It's not every day the public gets to bid on original work like this."
Contributions come from reputed photographers such as Tim Flach and Charlie Sainsbury-Plaice.
The auction starts today (January 28th) and will run until February 4th.
