Rock album art on show at exhibition - 19/04/2010
The album art of Storm Thorgerson is currently being displayed at the Idea Generation Gallery in London.Running from April 1st to May 2nd, the exhibition displays album artwork from Pink Floyd's The Dark Side of the Moon among others.
Thorgerson became the designer-in-chief for Pink Floyd 40 years ago and is now considered by many to be the most influential and prolific designer of rock music imagery and photography.
Eloise Rowley, Idea Generation Gallery manager, said: "We feel privileged to have such celebrated artwork here at the Idea Generation Gallery. This retrospective marks Storm's outstanding career that spans four decades."
She added that his work is 'memorable and hypnotic.' Other album artwork includes pieces from Muse, Led Zeppelin and The Cranberries.
Previously unseen sculptures, sketches and writings from the artist will be displayed and Thorgerson, himself, will take visitors through his own work on Friday April 30th from 6.30pm.
The Idea Generation Gallery was founded in 2001 as an art, entertainment and culture PR agency. It opened its own exhibition space in 2008.
