Rock legends' guitars to go on sale - 12/04/2010

A collection of guitars once owned by some of the world's most established guitarists are to go on sale.

Lots include instruments played by legends such as Eric Clapton, the Beatles and Jimi Hendrix, according to Paul Fletcher Collectibles.

The instruments will feature in a music sale compiled by Gary Sohmers, an expert appraiser.

The John Anderson Autographed Guitar Collection, which includes guitars used by Les Paul, Jeff Beck and Robert Cray among others, will be up for sale.

Collected by the renowned promoter, altruist and former BB King road manager, the array of guitars on offer will delight enthusiasts and collectors alike.

Fenders, Gibsons and Takemines are just some of the established brands on offer, with the instruments' ages spanning several decades.

Guitars can often offer a quick return on investment, with some lots increasing dramatically in value following an auction sale.

The auction will take place at Weiss Auctions, New York on April 25th.
