Silent auction for environment to be held Christie's will be holding a silent auction until May 6th where bidders can purchase important photographic works, sculptures, film memorabilia and vacations. The silent auction is online and global.

One piece of memorabilia that is on offer is a Star Wars collectible signed by Natalie Portman. An invite-only live auction is also being held by Christie's to celebrate Earth Day on April 22nd

Star-studded experiences are going under the hammer to honour the 40th anniversary of this environmental movement, which promotes civic engagement and campaigns for such things as clean water for the world.

Some of the experiences up for grabs include a day on the set of a film with Hugh Jackman and dinner and theatre with Sigourney Weaver.

Denis Hayes, honourary chair of the Earth Day network, said on the organisation's website: "Now, the fight for a clean environment continues. We invite you to be a part of this history and a part of Earth Day."

All proceeds from the sale will go to Oceana, Natural Resources Defence Council, Central Park Conservancy and Conservation International, who are non-profit groups.ADNFCR-3014-ID-19737930-ADNFCR
