Travelling art gallery in Scotland launches - 20/08/2010
The Travelling Gallery, a custom-built bus designed to bring contemporary art to locations in Scotland, will be making its first stop on August 21st.On August 21st, the Travelling Gallery will be hosting 'impossible nation' in Edinburgh.
This exhibition is designed to explore what the nation means to the young people of Scotland and artists have transformed the interior of the bus.
A number of montages of famous figures, sculptures, drawings, and projections will be incorporated into the display.
The artists involved include Fraser Gray, Andy MacVicar, Martin McGuiness and Kirsty Whiten.
A number of artist-led workshops will be held and talks will be given about the installation to groups of young people.
The Travelling gallery is working in conjunction with the National Galleries of Scotland in order to promote contemporary art and the nation to youngsters.
It will be touring Scotland until December 10th and its next stop will be Angus from August 23rd until 27th.
