Young boy sells artwork for £150,000Kieron Williamson, a seven-year-old from Norfolk, sold a selection of watercolours, oils and pastels for £150,000 at the weekend.

His third exhibition of artwork was held at the Picturecraft Gallery on Friday July 30th and more than 33 pieces were sold within 30 minutes.

Buyers from across the globe attended the event, including people from South Africa and the US, while the phone was constantly busy.

Adrian Hall, the gallery owner, told the Daily Mail: "Kieron has probably become one of the most collectable artists currently exhibiting worldwide. He's impressionist without being too abstract."

Most of the schoolboy's art work depicts scenes from Norfolk and the highest grossing piece was Sunrise at Morston, which sold for £7,995, reports the news provider.

Kieron started painting when he was five-years-old and has been compared to Monet. He has also been called a child prodigy.

Another child prodigy in terms of art was Sir John Everett Millais who joined the Royal Academy of Arts at the unprecedented age of 11.

Millais was a 19th-century painter and illustrator who was a founding member of the Pre-Raphaelite brotherhood.
