Swirl Lucite statement necklace, 1950s

This is a very striking necklace comprising Lucite beads in different shapes intended to emulate jade. Lucite was developed in the mid-late 1930s by Dupont and was first advertised as such in June 1937. This an excellent example of the type with the large beads exhibiting the desirable swirl characteristics.
