LOT NUMBER 3
Large brass portrait bust of Ramses II
This is an amusing portrait bust cast in brass with slender profile form depicting Ramses II, (Ramesses/Rameses II) the third pharaoh of the Nineteenth Dynasty of Egypt c1303BC - 1213BC and one of the most famous rulers of the country of whom the statues and images surviving have become iconic. The composition reflects 'Egyptian Revival ' pieces of the early twentieth century but the dating here is rather later.Size: | 21cm x 18.5cm |
