Large traditional Taxco Amethyst cross on chain c1950

This is a very traditional Taxco design in the form of a cross. It is set with rose cut and cabachon amethyst stones. It is marked Made in Mexico with makers mark JGD and 925. It has been paired with a complementary heavy chain that is Indian in origin.
Size: Cross is 59 x 47.6 mm, Chain is 48 cm long
Weight: 38 grams for both
