Georgian lava cameo gold Ring, c1800

This is a very fine example of lava cameo jewellery. It features a high relief classical portrait bust of a lady's head, set with a clear stone in the headdress that appears to be paste. The cameo is set in a 9 carat gold grotto themed setting. It bears a faint mark of 9 CT and tests as 9 carat or above.
