This is a charming decorative ornament comprising an alabaster egg shape stone in light brown carefully painted with a design of a bird sittting amidst a spray of flowers with peony and bamboo, fitted with a complementary wood stand. The work is typical of Chinese painters and the fitted stand suggests a late C20th dating.
