LOT NUMBER 10
Unusual pear shape art glass vase, possibly Scandinavian, C20th
An unusual art glass vase of a broad pear shape, the very narrow neck with ridged rounded decoration matching the top rim, the interior with an abstract leaf shape object at the base, the glass cloudy and with small flecks. There are no clear parallels for this piece, although it loosely resembles designs by Ingeborg Lundin for Orrefors, Sweden, (see image 9) which perhaps suggests a Scandinavian origin although this is far from certain. Elements of the decoration are clearly organic but the precise function of this vase remains something of a mystery.| Size: | Ht 17cm, Diam (max) 13.5cm, Base 7cm |
| Weight: | 1.275kg |
| Date: | C20th |
| Condition: | Good condition generally; the glass surface with various 'fleck' marks, the glass body cloudy, six pontil marks at the base, tiny chip at the base. |
| Estimate: | £20 – 30 |
