English Silver pin cushion in the form of a boot, London 1991
This is a charming small pin cushion in the form of a worn out boot. It has a typical blue velvet interior and is very lifelike even with a hole in the sole. It has full English hallmarks for London 1991 and a maker's mark 'DB' for Doubar Ltd, wholesalers and importers of jewellery based in Letchworth, Hertfordshire. The company registered its maker's mark on sterling silver items with UK assay offices, including London and Edinburgh, from the 1990s to the early 2000s and imported and retailed small silver luxury and novelty items including pincushions of which this is an amusing example. According to the UK hallmark registries, Doubar Ltd ceased trading in 2006.| Size: | 20mm x 31mm |
