Globular art glass Vase with trailing swirls, signed and dated 1994
An art glass vase of compressed globular form with a short concave neck and a flaring flat rim, the base flat with a pontil mark to the centre and an etched signature, perhaps to be read as ‘St Cl’, with the date ‘1994’, the clear glass body decorated in greys, blues and browns with trailing swirls and dashes and dots, perhaps intended to represent stylised fish and pebbles in flowing water. There is clearly considerable skill in the manufacture of this piece which was hand blown as indicated by the pontil mark underneath but the signature is unclear and the work without an exact parallel.| Size: | Ht 11.5cm, Width (max) 13.5cm, Top diam 8.5cm , Base 6.5cm |
